We Own The Sky

It's been awhile since I have been on here... I absolutely hate that. Just have alot of life stuff going on lately.

Spring is on its way!

That means spring cleaning... so my husband and I started a BIG spring cleaning day this week. We actually got alot done, but we came to the realization that our apartment is too small and/or we have too much stuff! (Especially my art supplies...)

Later that night, my husband said something to me that made me so happy!!! He told me that I could turn our dining room into my art studio/room! I was so happy that before we even finished changing it, I did a new painting :o)

It's called "We Own The Sky," and it's Acrylic on an 11x14 Canvas.

P.S. I'm already in the middle of another painting that I am making for a friend. Her birthday was this week :o)

My husband and I, big Halloween lovers, did our annual pumpkin painting this weekend!

My first pumpkin is a Ghoul Pumpkin...

My second pumpkin is Day of the Dead...

My Zombie Skeleton...

My Black Cat...

My hubby's Pirate Pumpkin...

My last pumpkin was my attempt at the American Werewolf In London...

Starting the Halloween festivus this week, hope everything goes to plan! :o)

It's Hammer Time!

In honor of Shark Week, I was inspired to create a painting that captured the mystery and majestic nature of the shark! I decided to paint the most mysterious of all sharks... the Hammerhead. I actually took this picture of a Great Hammerhead at the Adventure Aquarium in New Jersey. I was really happy that I could illustrate the beautiful dark mysteriousness of the Hammerhead.

Secret Garden

This painting I actually started awhile ago, but for some reason I never had the motivation to finish it. But one night in July, I was staring at it, and I decided it was time to finish it! I was so happy with the way it turned out... you can just feel the warm glow, mystery, and magic. For as long as I can remember, I have fantasized about finding a garden like this so I decided to call this painting "Secret Garden"...

Gifts

My brother-in-law and his girlfriend moved into their very first apartment recently! I am so excited for them... their first time on their own! So I decided as a house warming gift I would paint something for each of them.

Corey (my bro-in-law) loves horror movies and video games... and one in particular, Silent Hill. I love them as well! He told me once that he wanted me to paint the Pyramid Head from the game/movie. I doubted he would actually put it up, but he swore he would! So that's what I painted him!

For Sha (Corey's girlfriend), I decided to go with something more cuddly lol. They recently got a new baby! An adorable puppy! And they named him RJ... so I decided to create a portrait of their baby :o)

Can't Escape This Storm

This summer (as most summers do... for me anyway) seemed to have a black storm cloud over it. As much as I tried, I could not get away from it. So instead I attempted to embrace the storm. This painting was inspired by Van Gogh... the tumbling storm clouds colliding with the sea. This one is titled "Can't Escape This Storm."
